Reading, in Berkshire has a large and growing lettings market, especially bearing in mind its large student population from the University of Reading. Reading also has a large number of major employers in the IT sector based there including Microsoft. Landlords can also look to The Royal Berks Hospital for another source of good tenants.
Reading is also popular with tenants because it is only about 30 minutes fast train journey to Paddington and has easy access to the M4. The Oracle Shopping Centre in Central Reading has a wealth of major retailers, restaurants and bars. Reading is a very large city and like everywhere else varies hugely according to what part of Reading you are in. North Reading is primarily Caversham, a pleasant residential area comprised mainly of family houses, both detached and semi-detached, along with private apartment blocks. There are many up-market luxury flats, along with many pleasant residential roads such as Kendrick Road. Reading University campus is situated to the central south east part of Reading.
