On June 23rd 2016 the useless David Cameron, haunted by Nigel Farage, made a huge gamble - he held a referendum on the vastly complex subject of leaving the EU. To his and Boris Johnson's surprise the vote was to leave. Theresa May later triggered Article 50 which meant that the UK was scheduled to leave the EU at 23:00 hours on March 29th 2019.
Now this circus will continue until April 12th if Theresa May cannot get parliament to agree to her deal. If she can, then the deadline will move to May 22nd - confused?
The countdown clock below shows the exact time left before we leave the EU, assuming we do have to leave on April 12th.
This clock will be re-set if an extension is negotiated. It is based on GMT.
